Job summary

Ponte Family Estate Winery in Temecula, CA is seeking a Deck Bartender to provide friendly, attentive service, pour wine and beer, and help guests enjoy a relaxing visit. You will work with the team to ensure smooth service during events and daily wine tastings.

Candidates must be 21+, have 2-3 years of related experience, basic wine and beer knowledge, and the ability to stand long hours in hot conditions. This role requires strong communication, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

Ponte Family Estate Winery opened in 2003 and is a California based company operating in the heart of the Temecula Wine Country. We have been farming our vineyards since 1984 and are a real working winery, growing and producing over 20 estate grown varietals within certified sustainable facilities.

We are located right next to our Four Diamond, 90 room, boutique hotel Ponte Vineyard Inn. We are surrounded by 300 acres of mature vineyards and views of rolling hills. We are a short drive from most of Southern California and enjoy hosting folks who want a break from city life. Our guests visit us seeking a relaxing day or overnight stay in the country.

Summary:

The Deck Bartender will serve the guest wine and beer while providing friendly, attentive customer service that exceeds the guest expectations.

Compensation:

$16.90 hourly + TIPS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to ensure efficiency, and report any concerns (safety, service, etc.)
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Assist in any setup/reset for the Deck.
• Be willing to assist fellow associates as needed and be a team player.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain banquet cleanliness infront and back ofthehouse.
• Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner informing them of drink choices and answering questions.
• Take down food orders and promptly pass tickets to the runner/kitchen for efficient preparation.
• Serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for guests.
• Has common knowledge of wine and beer and can make suggestions to guests.
• Monitor bar inventory and report to Banquet Manager / Captain.
• Be responsible for the accuracy of wine and beer inventory at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure all sales are accounted for properly.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform side work at the end of the shift.
• Process guest payments in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy of guest check.
• Assist in any reset for meetings and events per the supervisor’s specifications.
• Thank the guest for coming and invite them to return.
• Perform any other tasks as requested by Management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Ability to treat all associates and guests in a respectful manner.

• Must have basic knowledge of wine and beer.
• Must have 2-3 years of related experience.
• Must have ability to lift and carry a wine cases up to 50lbs several times in a shift.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
