Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a senior engineering leader in New York to guide the largest engineering team on the Decision platform. You will own end-to-end delivery across sites, drive architectural decisions, and ship code weekly while expanding the team.

The role blends hands-on coding with strategic leadership in a fast-paced frontier compute environment. You will work closely with field deployment and project controls teams to ensure reliable, scalable systems that support ambitious infrastructure

The Decision Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

• Automate the delivery of gigawatts. Every process that takes AI infrastructure from land to live compute becomes software: schedules, decisions, and todos generated from a live knowledge graph instead of chased by hand.

• Forward-deploy beside the experts. Product teams sit with quality managers, sourcing leads, and deployment engineers on factory floors and sites, and turn their judgment into systems that reach every unit.

• Deliver every supercomputer faster than the last. Dozens of concurrent projects feed one graph, so every lesson learned at one site becomes a preventive check at all of them.

Role Scope

• Lead the largest engineering team on Decision: nine engineers today, twenty-two at full strength, automating everything between signed land and live compute: the portfolio schedule, on-site progress, change orders, design ingestion, commissioning, and the customer's delivered-against-committed view, across dozens of concurrent sites.

• Own delivery end to end: you set the technical direction, sequence the work with the function's Product Manager, and hold the bar on what ships, and you still write and ship code every week, because a lead who stops shipping stops knowing what the field needs.

• Hire and grow the team to twenty-two without diluting the bar: thirteen open seats, most of them on the company's critical path for signed compute, filled with engineers who work forward-deployed on live sites and ship systems the field adopts inside its own deadlines.

• Make the architecture calls that keep one system from becoming five: schedule, site progress, change orders, design and bill of materials, and commissioning all read and write one graph, and you own the boundaries, the data model, and the review practice that keep a need-by date computed once and trusted everywhere.

• Keep the team on site: your engineers sit beside deployment engineers, project controls leads, general contractors, and commissioning agents, and you make sure what they build survives contact with a live energization, not just a demo.

What We're Looking For

• You've shipped production code in Go, Python, or TypeScript for years, and you still ship weekly while leading.

• You've led a team of ten or more engineers through ambiguous, high-stakes delivery: you hired, grew, and kept the bar high without slowing the team down.

• You've built with LLM APIs, MCP servers, and agentic frameworks, and you run AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) as a daily multiplier for yourself and your team.

• You've owned software that physical-world operators depend on, and you've earned credibility with field engineers, schedulers, general contractors, or commissioning agents on their turf.

• You make architecture calls that hold up: engineers extend systems you designed months later without rewriting them, and you know when a boundary needs to move.

• You've run a team where the product manager, the engineers, and the field share one number, and you held everyone to it.

• You've found the unowned problem, taken it, and driven it to adopted without anyone assigning you the work.

• Bonus: Construction, deployment, or commissioning domains. Critical path scheduling engines. BIM and infrastructure modeling. Change order and document control workflows. Time on a deployment site. Prior team lead or engineering manager title at a high-velocity startup.
