Job summary

Elgen Staffing is seeking an experienced Deburrer for a leading manufacturer in Springfield. The role involves setting up manual machines, following blueprints and specifications, and performing deburring and polishing to remove burrs and tool marks.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of general machine shop experience, familiarity with NC/manual operations, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' experience as a general machine shop operator.
• Experience with manual and NC machines.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Experience deburring and polishing components.

Responsibilities

• Operates numerically controlled machines where programs are approved and setups are made and maintained by others.
• Removes burrs and rough edges from parts using deburring and polishing operations.
• Removes scratches, burrs and tool marks from parts using a microscope or magnifier.
• Sharpens drill tools on grinding wheel as necessary.
• Operates automatic welding equipment.
• Moves parts and materials to and from the work area.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervision.

Our client, an industry leading manufacturer of precision metal and steel components, has an immediate need for an experienced Deburrer, to join their winning team in Springfield.

Our candidate of choice will set up manual machines where speeds, feeds and sequences of tooling operations are ordinarily prescribed. You willwork under general supervision working from blueprints, sketches, verbal and/or written specifications, operates and adjusts manual or numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Operates numerically controlled machines where programs are approved and setups are made and maintained by others.
• Requires minimum of four years’ experience as a general machine shop operator with demonstrated acceptable performance on both the required machine and manual operations.
• Removesburrsandroughedgesfrommachine component parts using a varietyof hand operations,suchas; filing, deburringandperforming polishing operations.
• Removes scratches, burrs and tool marks from parts, using microscope or magnifier.
• Sharpens drill tools on grinding wheel as necessary.
• Operates automatic welding equipment.
• Moves parts and materials to and from work area.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
