Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Deburr Technician, Machining (Starship) to deburr and process valve components, interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009, and polish tight tolerance surfaces.

Requires a high school diploma and 1+ year factory/production experience or machining certification; preferred 2+ years deburr experience, machine shop work, basic blueprint reading, and knowledge of CNC machining.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of professional work experience in a factory/production environment; or the completion of a machining certification.
• Preferred: 2+ years deburr experience using various deburr techniques using manual and automated equipment.
• Experience working in a machine shop.
• Experience with basic blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of CNC machining.
• Experience using various measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and borescopes.

Responsibilities

• Deburr and process machined valve components in post-machining.
• Interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard to maintain part specifications.
• Chase machine cut threads to size if necessary.
• Polish tight tolerance surface finishes and inspect with profilometer.
• Wash parts that have gone through the deburr process and passivate using citric passivation.
• Assist with material inventory and prepare hardware for machining processes.
• Operate a mass finishing barrel tumbler using given recipes for specific parts and materials.
• Meet expectations for productivity and production goals.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
• Keep products consistently moving and alert management when production is inhibited.
• Provide ideas for continuous process improvements.
