Job summary

CFD Research is seeking a Deburr Technician to join our team at the Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center. The role focuses on polishing and deburring aerospace-grade components as part of a growing engineering effort near Huntsville.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in a deburr/polishing environment, is comfortable reading setup sheets, and works well with machinists and engineers to ensure quality. On-site work in Hollywood, AL is required.

Qualifications

• US citizen with eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance.
• High School Diploma with 4+ years in a deburr/polishing environment.
• Experience with common manufacturing tools and equipment.
• Proficiency working with plastics, aluminum, steel, stainless steels, and nickel alloys.

Responsibilities

• Polish and deburr aerospace-grade components to specification.
• Read machine setup sheets and tool lists to prepare parts.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to improve processes.
• Maintain clear communication and adherence to safety and quality standards.

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a Deburr Technician to join our team and play a pivotal role in the manufacture of high fidelity aerospace grade machine components. This position is a new role that will work on a growing team of engineers and technicians and will encompass polishing and deburring parts to help support technology development programs designed and prototyped at our new Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center, located a short distance from our Headquarters in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in a machine shop atmosphere. Reading machine setup sheets, tool lists, and other related documents. This role requires strong communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
• Position requires a High School Diploma and 4 years minimum experience in a Deburr/Polishing environment
• Experience with common tools and equipment used in manufacturing
• Proficient in working with a variety of materials, including plastics, aluminum, steel, stainless steels, and nickel alloys

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AS9100 process
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with ERP systems (Cetec)
• Experience with aerospace hardware
• Experience working with machinists to improve processes
• Location: This individual will work onsite in Hollywood, AL.
