Job summary

ION is seeking a Reporter to cover debt markets, with a focus on breaking news about companies issuing or refinancing bonds. The role involves developing a deep set of market sources to explain broader trends and investor sentiment, and writing in-depth stories on those dynamics.

You will be part of a global team of journalists and analysts, with a London base and offices around the world, traveling in-region as needed to cultivate sources and deliver timely coverage.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience covering debt markets.
• Bond market, private credit and/or leveraged loans reporting experience a plus.
• Knowledge and experience reporting on mergers and acquisitions a plus.
• Strong writing skills and an investigative mindset.
• Time management and communication skills.
• Networking and contact-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Reporting, writing, and filing copy on a daily basis
• Writing in-depth, substantive articles
• Contributing to special projects such as conferences, databases, webinars and podcasts
• Assisting with developing coverage outside of assigned beats
• Cultivating and meeting with sources
• In-region travel as necessary
