Job summary

Meadow Gold, a DFA brand, is hiring Production Utility Workers in Billings, MT to support the production line. You will operate equipment, verify materials, perform quality checks, and document production runs on a 40-hour schedule.

Compensation ranges up to $27.37 per hour with wage increases tied to competencies. Benefits include a union pension plan and 401(k), paid vacation/holidays, and room for growth within DFA. Schedule: Sun, Mon, Wed, Thu 7:00 PM–5:30 AM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic with numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings including drug and background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced, wet environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean, set up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line.
• Ensure materials used match the product being produced.
• Complete documentation and quality checks; record production data.
• Review charts and quality sheets in printed and electronic formats.
• Perform sanitation tasks and prepare equipment for next runs.
• Troubleshoot basic to moderate operating issues and maintain safety.

Compensation: Up to $23.26 to $27.37 additional wage increases based upon achieving specific competencies and Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Production Utility Workers perform job duties within the manufacturing environment to provide relief forplanned (vacation, break) and unexpected absencesto ensure the continual production of product. This is a regular, full-time position, working at least 40 hours a week.

Schedule: Sunday, Monday Wednesday, Thursday = 07:00PM to 05:30AM

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipmenton the production line
• Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced
• Complete all required documentation and quality checks
• Record and document all production runs, downtime, weights, code dates, and label verifications
• Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format
• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks on equipment in both manual and automated capacities
• Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
• Maintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s
• Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be able to work in a wet environment
• May have some exposure to dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
