Job summary

Doral Leadership is seeking a Dean of Discipline to lead behavior management efforts across the campus, collaborate with students, teachers, and administrators, and ensure adherence to district and state policies.

The role focuses on implementing PBIS, conducting disciplinary conferences, and analyzing behavior data to drive improvements while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Overview
A K-12 School Dean of Discipline works with students, teachers, and administrators to promote positive behavior, manage challenging behaviors, and create supportive learning environments for all students.

Key Duties:

• Administer and enforce district and school discipline policies in accordance with Florida laws and district regulations.
• Investigate student misconduct and determine appropriate disciplinary actions.
• Conduct disciplinary conferences with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
• Maintain accurate records of disciplinary incidents, interventions, and outcomes.
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans for students exhibiting recurring behavioral concerns.
• Monitor student attendance, tardiness, and conduct issues, and coordinate intervention strategies.
• Support the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and other behavior management programs.
• Collaborate with counselors, social workers, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) staff, and other support personnel to address student behavioral and social-emotional needs.
• Assist with crisis response, conflict resolution, and student safety initiatives.
• Supervise students during school activities, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times.
• Provide professional development and support to staff regarding behavior management and classroom discipline strategies.
• Analyze discipline data to identify trends and recommend improvement strategies.
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations when appropriate.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504, Manifestation Determination, and other student support meetings as required.
• Assist school administration with maintaining compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Qualification Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in Educational Leadership, Administration, Counseling, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Certification Requirements

• Florida Educational Leadership Certification preferred or eligibility to obtain certification.

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching, counseling, administration, or student services experience.
• Experience in student discipline, behavior intervention, conflict resolution, or school leadership preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Florida Statutes, State Board of Education Rules, and district discipline policies.
• Strong understanding of student behavior management, PBIS, restorative practices, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners.
• Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Proficiency in student information systems and data analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse educational environment.
