Job summary

Vermont State University is seeking a strategic leader to oversee academic programs across multiple schools, driving excellence in teaching and curriculum development. You will shape program strategy, oversee budgets, and foster partnerships with industry and communities to strengthen workforce outcomes.

Reporting to the Provost, you will supervise administrative staff and academic leaders, guide faculty workload and scheduling, and promote inclusive, student-centered experiences across Vermont

Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline with leadership potential.
• Minimum 3 years of academic leadership experience (chair, dean, etc.).
• Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and program administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and leadership for programs across multiple schools.
• Oversee operating budgets and ensure responsible stewardship of resources.
• Lead curriculum development, program review, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Promote partnerships with business, industry, and educational institutions.
• Supervise administrative staff and academic administrators within the Schools.
