Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. in Harvard, MA is seeking a Sales Operations Specialist to own the commercial process for a growing, multi-vertical manufacturing business. You will handle deal desk activities, prepare quotes, and align pricing with engineering and finance to drive repeatable, scalable processes.

The role supports a seven-person sales team and reports to the Senior Director of Commercial Operations. A background in manufacturing and advanced Excel, Salesforce, and ERP systems is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in sales operations, commercial operations, or similar role
• Experience owning a quoting or deal desk process for configured products
• Experience running a forecast process with business or sales leaders
• Advanced Excel and Salesforce proficiency
• Experience with an ERP such as Epicor in a commercial/order management capacity
• Manufacturing or engineered-to-order background preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as the deal desk for the commercial team — quote intake, preparation, pricing review, and approval routing
• Prepare and issue customer quotes, including complex configurations
• Coordinate with engineering and finance for cost/margin inputs and pricing recommendations
• Maintain quote templates, product structure, and pricing rules
• Facilitate forecast process with business unit owners on weekly/quarterly cadence
• Own forecast reporting and data consolidation across commercial systems
• Enforce data standards for opportunity stages and hygiene
• Oversee handoff from quotes to purchase orders and customer follow-ups
• Document current commercial workflows and identify improvement opportunities
• Represent the commercial team in cross-functional initiatives
