Job summary

The State of Nevada, Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) seeks a Sign Language Interpreter/Translation Specialist in Reno to produce ASL video translations of printed, web, and video materials for state government.

You will perform outreach to state agencies on interpreting and communication access, provide consultation on best practices, and may interpret at public events. The role requires Deaf Interpreter certification and experience in government settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
• Current and valid Deaf Interpreter certification in good standing.
• Registration with the Nevada Interpreter/CART Registry within 30 days.
• Experience translating written or video materials into ASL.
• Experience providing interpreting services in government settings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Produce video translations into ASL for state government materials.
• Provide outreach and consultation on interpreting best practices and state laws.
• Interpret for public events when required.
• Adhere to NAD RID Code of Professional Conduct.
