Job summary

CAPS Collaborative is hiring a Teacher of the Deaf to deliver high-quality instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students within a Massachusetts classroom. The role requires engaging families, developing IEPs, and collaborating with a team to support language development and literacy.

The ideal candidate holds a valid MA license in Deaf Education or eligibility, has ASL fluency, and can integrate language-based approaches with early childhood curricula, while maintaining strong documentation

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license for Deaf Education/ASL.
• Master's Degree in Deaf Education preferred.
• Fluency in American Sign Language is required.
• Ability to plan and implement an integrated language-based early childhood program.
• Knowledge of early childhood education and literacy for deaf students.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality instruction aligned with Massachusetts standards for deaf and hard of hearing learners.
• Develop IEP-based goals and progress monitoring.
• Use ASL, Listening and Spoken Language, and AAC per IEP.
• Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, and other staff.
• Maintain student progress records and communicate with families.
• Lead and supervise paraprofessionals to support student outcomes.
