Job summary

Par Pacific is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join the Operational Technology team in Billings, MT. You’ll serve as a technical resource for complex DCS, OT infrastructure, and cybersecurity in a continuous-process environment.

You’ll lead DCS upgrades, support the TDC-3000 to DeltaV migration, and collaborate with vendors and plant teams to ensure reliable control system operation and ongoing modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience in a related field.
• 3+ years working with Honeywell TDC-3000 architecture and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting DCS in refinery/continuous-process environments.
• Ability to diagnose complex DCS/hardware/network issues.
• Understanding of PLC, DCS integration and industrial protocols.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for the Honeywell TDC-3000 DCS.
• Lead DCS configuration changes, control strategies, graphics, upgrades.
• Support migration from TDC-3000 to Emerson DeltaV.
• Troubleshoot DCS, PLCs, SIS, analyzers, historians, and industrial systems.
• Maintain OT infrastructure: servers, networks, backups, virtualization.
• Apply cybersecurity best practices to process environments.
• Lead or support capital projects, FATs, SATs, commissioning, startup.
• Develop system standards, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
