Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a DCI Technician for its Mocksville, NC facility. This onsite, first-shift role focuses on disassembling machinery, cleaning parts, and performing inspections to ensure safe, efficient operation and compliance with specifications.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma and 1+ year of mechanical assembly experience, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs. Training and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Disassembly of air compressors.
• Assembly of air compressors, generators, and breakers.
• Ensure units are built correctly to the Bill of Material.
• Remove used parts preserving parts for future use.
• Clean salvaged parts using chemicals and pressure washer.
• Load and unload reman vendors.
• Document information concisely and correctly.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on troubleshooting.

Job Overview

The DCI Technician plays a critical role in the maintenance and repair of mechanical components within a manufacturing or industrial setting. This position focuses on disassembling machinery, cleaning parts, and conducting detailed inspections to assess wear and damage. The goal is to ensure that equipment operates at optimal efficiency and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly of air compressors
• Assembly of air compressors, generators, and breakers.
• Assure units are built correctly (to the Bill of Material).
• Removal of used parts in a manner that preserves the part for future use.
• Cleaning salvaged parts using chemicals and pressure washer.
• Loading and unloading reman vendors.
• Document information concisely and correctly.
• Work with Quality and Engineering in troubleshooting issues.
• Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or work instruction.
• Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Performs overtime work as required.
• Keeps area clean and organized.
• Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
• To perform other duties that is assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1+ year experience with assembly of equipment

Core Competencies

• Strong problem-solving skills (identify problems and respond correctly).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material and quality control documents.
• Ability to use correct tooling, fixturing and equipment to perform work tasks to engineering specifications.
• Ability to function in a flexible team environment.

Preferences

• Formal training from technical or trade school is desired by not required. Two years mechanical assembly of mechanical equipment or equivalent technology.
• High degree of precision.
