Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a Material Handling Associate to perform core receiving/shipping duties in a distribution center. Responsibilities include stocking, loading/unloading, verifying documents, and operating warehouse equipment.

You will work in a team environment in a fast-paced DC and participate in safety and inventory processes. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year of distribution experience, basic problem solving, and the ability to operate equipment after certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred 1 year or more experience in distribution functions.
• Basic problem solving skills are expected.
• Good organization skills are essential for accuracy and efficiency.
• Good verbal and written communications skills are required.
• Basic computer skills (Windows/Excel) are needed.
• Willingness to be certified and operate equipment such as Stock Picker, Fork Lift, Electric Pallet Jack, and Reach Truck.
• Must pass drug test (Marijuana included).

Responsibilities

• Accurate stocking of inventory into assigned active pick locations and High Rack reserve.
• Organized loading/unloading of shipment containers and trucks.
• Accurate verification of received goods vs. shipment documents (arrival notices, packing lists).
• Accurate deconsolidation of mixed inbound products.
• Identifying and reporting discrepancies to the Receiving Supervisor.
• Labeling and sorting of goods to prepare them for receipt.
• Package and inbound delivery inspection.
• Random audits of parcel shipments (UPS, FEDEX, USPS).
• Must exude a willingness to work in any department in the DC as necessary.
• Must maintain a professional attitude at all times.
• Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follows all safety procedures and report safety infractions.
• Must participate in the annual Physical Inventory counts.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Flexibility in a changing work environment.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality is expected.
