Job summary

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a DC Supervisor in Delaware to oversee daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, picking, and palletizing. You will supervise 10–50 hourly workers, assign tasks, and ensure safety and productivity in a fast-paced distribution center.

  • Maintains safety and cleanliness, enforces company rules, and monitors performance metrics.
  • Coordinates with warehouse and operations managers to ensure on-time shipments and inventory accuracy.

Job DescriptionDC Supervisors at Advance Auto Parts supervise the daily work schedules of warehouse employees involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking and palletizing finished products. The DC Supervisor will be knowledgeable of our company policies and procedures, including Human Recourse policies. They will demonstrate lead-workers or supervisory skills and must make decisions regarding orders and work assignments. The DC Supervisor will be required to assist in determining space requirements for storage and schedule delivery and distribution of products, parts, and accessories to achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements. They will help to maintain a safe and clean environment.Reports To: DC Operations ManagerSalary Range: $70,000 - $77,000 and 5% annual bonusPosition SummaryDistribution Center (DC) Supervisors at Advance Auto Parts oversee the daily activities and work schedules of warehouse team members engaged in a variety of distribution operations, including shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trailers, order picking, palletizing, stacking, and inventory movement. The DC Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Human Resources guidelines while fostering a productive and engaging work environment.This role requires strong leadership and decision-making skills to effectively direct workflow, assign work, prioritize tasks, and support operational objectives. DC Supervisors assist in determining storage space requirements, coordinating product flow, and scheduling the distribution of products, parts, and accessories to meet customer expectations and business service goals.Additionally, the DC Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment, promoting operational efficiency, employee safety, and continuous improvement throughout the distribution center.DC Supervisor Job Duties include, but are not limited to:Supervises the daily work schedules of warehouse employees involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking and palletizing finished products.Determines space requirements for storage and schedules delivery and distribution of products, parts, and accessories to achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements and certify that all store material is organized and clearly identified.Ensures maintenance of equipment, including company vehicles, in compliance with city, state, and federal laws, and ensures a safe, clean environment with the ability to enforce all company work and safety rules, including the proper handling and recording of all hazardous materials.Monitors employee attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provides counseling to employees, as required.Coordinates work with warehouse and operations manager, telephone sales and other supervisors concerning shipments being shipped in accordance with designated cut-off times, merchandise shortages, etc.Maintains various records and reports, such as lost sales, error report, and production report.Recommends changes in procedures to improve the operating efficiency of the unit.LEADERSHIP / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise 10-50 Hourly WorkersRequired Experience:1 to 3 years prior work experience in a warehouse-related field.Previous work experience in a warehouse or distribution center including material handling, inventory tracking, and providing work direction to other teammates.TECHNICAL SKILLSProficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience in DC Operations and with HighJump WMS a plusBilingual Team Members (particularly Spanish-speaking) a plusEducation:Associate Degree, or equivalent experience (1-3 years).We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
