Job summary

The US Sun, part of News Corp, seeks a Video Journalist specializing in politics based in Washington, D.C. You will produce sharp vertical videos and longform series that bring political reporting to life on our site and social platforms.

You should have strong mobile video storytelling skills, solid understanding of US politics, and the ability to work quickly in breaking news. Regular in-office attendance four days a week with some remote work is expected.

Qualifications

Proven video editing skills with strong storytelling ability.
Excellent news judgment and ability to work quickly under deadline pressure.
Experience interviewing politicians, analysts and experts in field or studio settings.
Able to collaborate across a newsroom to develop engaging formats.

Responsibilities

Script, produce, edit and publish short-form vertical video content focused on US politics and Washington affairs.
Monitor the political news cycle and identify stories with strong video potential across breaking news and enterprise reporting.
Work closely with editors to develop visually compelling video formats for site and social platforms.
Interview politicians, analysts and experts in field and studio settings.
Collaborate with the wider video and editorial team to bring political journalism to new audiences.
Uphold fast, accurate and engaging journalism.
