Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Inventory Control role in a distribution center. You will perform inventory control, audits, and research to maintain accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support receiving, stocking, and distribution processes.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, adjustments, and issue resolution within WMS and related systems, ensuring safe, efficient operations and adherence to procedures. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Perform order adjustments, repicks, transfers, and corrections to maintain accuracy.
• Monitor and resolve allocation, receiving, and inventory discrepancies in WMS and Orders programs.
• Research and fix item number, location, and receiving errors by comparing physical vs system inventory.
• Conduct daily audits of outbound parcels, license plates, damage locations and inventory.
• Perform cycle counts and monthly inventory verifications per procedures.
• Process and reconcile stray parts and relabel/changeover projects.
• Handle factory stock adjustments and recalls as needed.
• Maintain accurate rule sets, locations, and weight data for slotting.
• Locate missing freight and resolve Not Expected / Max Quantity Receive errors as applicable.
• Execute batch receipts corrections and communicate discrepancies to leadership.
• Request repairs/replacements of RF units and other devices to support workflow.

Job description

Performs distribution center inventory control and research functions to maintain inventory accuracy and support efficient operations. Researches and resolves inventory discrepancies, performs audits and cycle counts, processes inventory adjustments, and supports receiving, stocking, and distribution center inventory processes.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform order adjustments, repicks, inventory transfers, inventory adjustments, and quantity corrections to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve allocation issues.
• Monitor, research, and resolve allocation, receiving, stocking, and inventory discrepancies within the warehouse management system and Problem Resolution (Orders) programs.
• Research and correct item number, location, receiving, and keying errors by comparing physical inventory against system inventory.
• Conduct daily audits of outbound parcels, inbound license plates, damage locations, and warehouse inventory to verify inventory numbers and accurate operations.
• Perform trimester cycle counts, quarterly return department verification audits, and monthly critical supply inventories while following O’Reilly inventory control procedure.
• Process and reconcile stray parts and relabel / changeover projects.
• Perform all job functions associated with factory stock adjustments, factory stock lifts, final sweeps and recalls.
• Perform slotting assignments by maintaining accurate rule sets, location assignments, dimensional data, and safe product weight placement throughout the distribution center.
• Walk the distribution center to locate missing freight, investigate inventory discrepancies, or resolve issues related to Not Expected and Max Quantity Receive errors if applicable.
• Make necessary inventory corrections and batch receipt adjustments within warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Communicate inventory discrepancies, dimensional concerns, max cap issues, and receiving problems to leadership teams.
• Request repair and replacement of RF units, Vocollect equipment, and other operational devices to support workflow continuity.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following all operational, quality, and safety procedures while identifying unsafe practices or conditions.
• Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy, distribution center shrinks goals, and operational performance metrics.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Experience

• Ability to accurately match numerical and alphabetical information.
• Follows established operational, safety, and quality procedures.
• Maintain safe work environment, including but not limited to safely lifting, moving, and handling merchandise.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory research and reconciliation processes.
• Willingness to learn warehouse systems, RF technology, and operational processes.

Desired

• Experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with inventory audits, cycle counts, and inventory adjustment processes.
• Experience operating warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, or voice-picking equipment.
• Experience working within productivity, quality, or performance-driven environments.
• Proficiency in one or more additional languages.
