Job summary

Greenberg Traurig is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager in our Washington, DC office. You will lead communications strategies, shape firm messaging, and drive media coverage for the DC Metro area.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer with client-service orientation, builds internal/media relationships, and handles multiple deadlines with confidence. In-office role with DC/NVA regional focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7-10 years of PR experience in a law firm or professional services.
• Proven track record of media placements that build thought leadership.
• Writing portfolio demonstrating the ability to translate complex topics into compelling copy.
• Strong understanding of the news media landscape with established media relationships.
• Experience identifying PR risk issues and advising leadership on communications decisions.
• Proficiency with Cision or similar PR databases.
• Experience leveraging social media to maximize exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop proactive communications plan aligned with the DC Metro region and firm goals.
• Advise office and practice leaders on messaging, reputation management, and strategy.
• Identify brand-building opportunities through events, thought leadership and media.
• Create content priorities and outreach strategies for media placements and bylined articles.
• Identify PR opportunities and risk issues and advise leadership accordingly.
• Provide media relations support, including pitching and preparing attorneys.
• Manage media outreach and press releases for matters and hires in DC Metro.
• Draft press releases, internal communications, and media collateral.
• Plan awards submissions and internal/external thought leadership events.
• Collaborate with marketing and business professionals across the firm.
• Leverage social media to maximize exposure for firm news.
