Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Analyst to support inventory control initiatives across East/West Coast facilities and multiple shifts.

You will research, problem-solve, and perform root-cause analysis to improve shrinkage, performance, and cost savings, while ensuring SOX compliance and inventory accuracy. The role requires travel to multiple distribution centers, collaboration with Finance, Buyers, and Transportation, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced distribution environment is desired.
  • WMS and Dematic experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a thorough knowledge of internal department and external SOPs and best practices.
  • Ensure operational members are accurately following SOPs.
  • Perform audits and document investigation methods and issues affecting inventory while conducting root-cause analysis.
  • Communicate recommendations to management and escalate items needing immediate attention.
  • Collaborate with IT, DC Ops, Finance, and other groups for research and problem solving.
  • Analyze and report systemic and operational issues to prevent loss of company assets.
  • Lead inventory movement and cost-saving projects.
  • Monitor key reports related to inventory transactions.
  • Cross-train on operational procedures and interact with management at all levels.
  • Complete timely inventory adjustments as directed and conduct audits.

Position Overview

This position supports distribution center initiatives, in conjunction with Inventory Control and non-Inventory Control-related activities targeted to improve shrinkage, performance, and cost savings initiatives. This position will directly impact the organization by partnering with multiple levels of the organization to drive, communicate, and execute million-dollar initiatives for Burlington Stores. This position plays a key role in SOX compliance and inventory accuracy. Research, problem solve, perform root cause analysis, and process financial inventory adjustments impacting inventory for either the East Coast or West Coast Distribution Centers and Warehouses in addition to the Burlington Stores. Must independently provide a strong research skill set and problem-solving ability while leveraging the skills and knowledge of other team members across the Supply Chain to accomplish their responsibilities. Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required. Ability to travel to multiple facilities across multiple shifts as needed. Required to comply with the policies and procedures as defined in SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure). This position will support members of the Supply Chain, including but not limited to Finance, Buyers, Allocations and Planning, Transportation, DC Operations, and Burlington Stores nationwide.

A Day In The Life
  • Develops a thorough knowledge of internal department and external operational SOP’s and best practices
  • Ensure operational members are accurately following SOPs
  • Perform thorough audits and document investigation methods and issues affecting inventory while performing root cause analysis
  • Communicate (written and/or verbal) recommendations and engage the appropriate levels of management in the Supply Chain to assist with the escalation of items needing immediate attention.
  • Work with IT, POC, DC OPs, Finance, and other work groups for assistance in research and problem solving.
  • Analyze and report systemic and operational issues to prevent situations that could result in the loss of company assets promptly.
  • Plays a key role in projects related to inventory movement and cost savings initiatives
  • Ensures all key functions and reports, as assigned, related to inventory transactions are monitored consistently, accurately, and timely.
  • Cross-trains frequently on operational procedures
  • Interacts confidently and accurately with all levels of management
  • Completes timely inventory adjustments as directed
  • Audits and conducts operational research in order to identify receiving errors and reduce shrink

Qualifications

Education

BA / BS preferred

Licenses/Certification/Registration

Ability to become certified on DC equipment as needed

Experience
  • 1+ year Analyst, Inspection, Inventory Control or related distribution center / retail experience preferred
  • 1+ year experience with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and sortation system (Dematic) preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume distribution environment preferred.
  • Computer Proficiency with experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Excellent math and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performance team.
  • Ability to remain flexible to shifting priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on site and remotely
  • Ability to travel to all Distribution Centers and Warehouses
  • Ability to sit at a computer researching for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standing/bending/lifting throughout the workday
  • Frequent exposure to dust, high levels of noise, and moving machinery
  • Ability to respond to time-critical issues
