Job summary

JSI TELECOM LLC is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician for on-demand, second-shift work in Northern New Jersey. The role involves cabling, equipment installation, and troubleshooting in a live data center, with travel to sites as needed.

You will perform patching, extend fiber and Ethernet circuits, and communicate results to remote engineers. Ideal candidates have 2–10 years in DC or telecom settings, ability to lift server gear, and a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• 2–10 years experience in DC/telecom or related field.
• Experience with cable/fiber, server racks, and network devices.
• Ability to lift server equipment and work second shift.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to communicate findings to remote engineers.

Responsibilities

• Execute cable, fiber, and equipment installation in live data center.
• Provide remote hands assistance and coordinate with remote engineers.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, and power issues in servers, switches, and routers.
• Document work performed and report outcomes clearly.

Job Description

On demand position available for Data Center Operations technician for cable connectivity ,equipment installation and trouble shooting in Live data center setting.

Technicians must be skilled in one or more of the following fields: network cabling,IT equipment rack and stack, Trouble shooting equipment, cabling and power connections.

Must be able to communicate clearly and have understanding of how to execute scope of work efficiently.

Must have drivers license and reliable vehicle or reliable means to travel to site in Northern NJ.

Experience 2-10 years is required.

Ideally the candidate will have experience in DC setting, execute patch, providing remote hands, communicating with remote engineers during trouble shooting efforts, trouble shooting cabling to servers, switches, firewalls, routers, etc.

Must be able lift server equipment for racking.

Must have the ability to communicate results of trouble shooting efforts.

Must have experience extending Fiber optic circuits and Ethernet cable circuits.

Must be reliable and willing to work mostly evenings (2nd shift) and some weekends.

Must be able to work independently to execute a work ticket in DC.

DC technician on demand on second shift 1-3 nights per week. There is some flexibility in this position for the right candidate. This is a good second income that will not be time consuming to any one's evening. Hours are from about 6-10pm most nights, with some flexibility.

Pay rate based on experience level.

*****NOTE: this position is for experienced DC Operations technician... not Software related.
