Job summary

New York Technology Partners seeks an experienced database manager to oversee corporate databases, support project teams, and ensure production readiness. You will lead a team, coordinate with IT and development groups, and drive staffing and training decisions to meet organizational goals.

The role requires broad SQL database knowledge and strong communication, with a focus on lifecycle integration, budgeting, and performance reviews for staff growth.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of different SQL databases such as DB2, Sybase, Informix, SQL Server, EDB and Postgres SQL.
• In-depth knowledge of how database department fits into development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, strong judgement and management skills, and ability to work with customers, managers and staff.
• Experience with Microsoft Office desktop tools (Project, Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Manages the availability and usability of corporate databases in accordance with requirements.
• Manages database department efforts in support of project teams, review and approve proposed changes by project teams to the logical database design and approve changes to Corporation’s databases.
• Provides timely support to all production databases.
• Assign personnel to projects and direct their activities.
• Develop and communicate a challenging, clear and measurable Performance Review for each in-line management staff member; assist in the development, review and approval of clear and measurable Development Plans for all staff members.
