Job summary

IMR Soft LLC in NYC is seeking a Database Performance Engineer for a 12-month engagement to optimize DB2-based systems and tune SQL for peak performance.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in DB2 development/DBA roles, strong SQL tuning, and experience refactoring stored procedures (Scala a plus). Snowflake SQL tuning is a plus. On-site in NYC.

Contract type is 12 months with on-site work in NYC.

Qualifications

• DB2 database development and DBA experience (10+ years).
• SQL performance tuning experience on DB2 (8+ years).
• Understanding, developing and refactoring stored procedures on DB2 (8+ years).
• Nice to have: Scala development to re-write existing Stored Procedures in Scala (4+ years).
• DB2 database expertise and DB2 development experience not a DB2 maintenance person (8+ years).
• Ability to think through issues like a DBA.
• Deep experience in SQL performance tuning experience on DB2 (6+ years).
• Understanding, developing and refactoring stored procedures on DB2 to DB2 SQL (6+ years).
• Identifying stored procedures that can be extracted and programmed in Scala or a similar programming language (4+ years).
• Exposure and hands-on understanding of Snowflake warehouses and Snowflake SQL tuning (2+ years).
• Scala development to re-write existing Stored Procedures in Scala (4+ years).
