Job summary

BestPegasus LLC is seeking a senior DB2 Administrator with Google Cloud Platform experience to support the State of NY DOL. You will administer DB2 on Linux, configure HADR, optimize performance, ensure backup/recovery, and implement security best practices.

This contract spans 30 months with remote engagement from New York. A strong background in Red Hat Linux and scripting is required, along with 12+ years of relevant experience.

• 72 Months of experience DB2 Database Administration Expertise: Experience in administering DB2 databases on Linux environments, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security management
• 84 Months of experience Red Hat Linux Proficiency: Experience in Red Hat Linux operating systems, including command-line administration, scripting, and system troubleshooting.
• 84 Months of experience Database Performance Tuning and Optimization Expertise: Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in Db2 databases, including query optimization, index management, buffer pool tuning, and workload management.
• 84 Months of experience High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) for Db2: Experience in setting up, configuring, and managing Db2 HADR solutions to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
• 60 months of experience Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Expertise: Experience with GCP services relevant to database deployments, such as Compute Engine (for bare metal instances), networking (VPCs, firewalls), storage (Persistent Disks), and IAM for access control.
