Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Whitestown, IN is seeking friendly daytime Team Members to deliver fast, friendly, and efficient service. The role supports opening the shop, food prep, and serving customers while maintaining a clean, inviting environment.

We offer competitive pay of $15.25–$15.75 per hour plus digital tips, plus benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match. Flexible schedules and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen (knife skills are a big plus!).
• Ability to manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player and able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours or as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Illinois applicants – food safety certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

We’re hiring Team Members available for morning and day shifts ranging from 8 am to 4 pm. Join our team to help open the shop, prep food, and serve customers, plus start the energy & good vibes early! You don’t need to be available the entire time, but you must have availability within this window.

What you bring to the table

• At least 16 years of age
• A friendly, customer‑first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, energetic environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
