Potbelly Corporate is hiring a Daytime Team Member for our Lakewood location. You will help open the shop, prep food, and serve customers during morning to early afternoon shifts.

Ideal candidates are at least 16, with strong communication, a customer-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a busy kitchen. The role involves standing, lifting, and following food-safety rules in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen; knife skills are a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Able to stand/walk 3+ hours; lift up to 10 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Illinois food safety certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsabilités

• Load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front stations as directed by Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.).
• When 18 or older, operate automatic slicer to prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register; balance and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Handle customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders by phone.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

We're hiring Team Members available for morning and day shifts ranging from 8am-4pm. Join our team to help open the shop, prep food, and serve customers, plus start the energy & good vibes early! You don't need to be available the entire time, but you must have availability within this window.

What you bring to the table:

• you are at least 16 years of age
• A friendly, customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills are a big plus!)
• You can manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish

• You're able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours or as needed
• You're able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
