Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Cook for on-site work at Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools in Sioux City, IA. The schedule is Monday–Friday 7am-1:30pm, with a focus on nutritious school meals and a positive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, supporting daily meal operations, ensuring food safety, maintaining a clean kitchen, and collaborating with staff. Benefits include a 401(k), paid time off and holidays, and a free meal each shift.

Qualifications

• 1 year food service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, bending, twisting and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients and convert quantities for large batches.
• Dependability, integrity and commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals by following provided recipes for scheduled serving times.
• Support daily meal operations by forecasting, preparing special diet items, assisting with events and stocking/menu items during service.
• Maintain food safety and compliance by following HHFKA guidelines, completing HACCP logs and production records.
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly with regular cleaning, FIFO storage organization, and a safe work environment.
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, staff and customers to ensure smooth operations and great service.
• Contribute to team growth by helping train new staff and filling in other roles when needed.
