Markent Personnel seeks two Daytime RN Desk Nurses / Assistant Unit Managers in Connecticut to partner with Lead Unit Managers in directing unit operations and clinical workflows.

In this dual clinical-administrative leadership role, you will oversee daily care delivery, clinical documentation, physician order processing, and unit workflows across two resident units, joining an established LTC team. Monday–Friday daytime schedule with structured oversight and no full solo administrative burden.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Connecticut
• Minimum 2–3 years clinical nursing in SNF/LTC with supervisory/desk nurse experience
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities for two units
• Proficient EMR use (e.g., PointClickCare) for care planning and orders
• Excellent communication with physicians, leadership, staff, and families

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily unit operations, shift reports, and nursing workflows across two units
• Review and reconcile physician orders, labs, diagnostics, and pharmacy profiles
• Serve as liaison between physicians, therapy teams, families, and nursing staff to align care plans
• Assist with resident assessments, care planning updates, and family communications
• Provide guidance to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs and ensure nursing standards are followed
• Maintain EMR documentation in compliance with CT DPH and facility QAPI

Desk Nurse / Assistant Unit Manager

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Direct Hire | On-Site

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday – Friday

An established, mission-driven senior healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking two collaborative, clinically skilled Daytime RN Desk Nurses / Assistant Unit Managers to partner directly with Lead Unit Managers in driving unit operations.

In this dual clinical-administrative leadership role, you will work side-by-side with the Lead Unit Manager to oversee daily care delivery, clinical documentation, physician order processing, and unit workflows across designated resident units (1 dedicated to the upstairs two units, 1 dedicated to the downstairs two units). This role is ideal for an experienced long-term care RN looking for a structured, Monday through Friday daytime management opportunity without full solo administrative burden.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unit Operations & Desk Leadership: Work alongside the Lead Unit Manager to coordinate daily unit operations, shift reports, and clinical nursing workflows across two assigned units
• Clinical Order & Chart Management: Review, process, and reconcile physician orders, lab results, diagnostic reports, and pharmacy profiles to ensure rapid, accurate clinical execution
• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Function as a primary liaison between attending physicians, interdisciplinary therapy teams, families, and floor nursing staff to align resident care plans
• Resident Assessment & Family Communication: Assist with comprehensive resident clinical assessments, care planning updates, routine family updates, and hospital discharge preparation
• Floor Staff Guidance & Support: Model clinical standards and provide ongoing coaching, documentation support, and daily guidance to floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
• Regulatory & Quality Oversight: Maintain meticulous EMR documentation standards in compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations and internal facility QAPI benchmarks

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut required
• LTC Management Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting, including demonstrated supervisory, charge nurse, desk nurse, or unit management experience
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional administrative multitasking abilities, order reconciliation skills, and detail orientation to manage two active clinical units
• EMR Proficiency: High proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., PointClickCare) for care planning, order entries, and audit compliance
• Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, facility leadership, nursing teams, and resident families
