Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, New Jersey seeks a part-time child and adolescent psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on evaluations, development of treatment plans, and medication management for children and teens, with a daytime schedule on-site.

The position offers 20 hours per week, scheduled days by mutual agreement, with on-call duties as needed to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Board certification or eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (General Psychiatry board certification preferred).
• Current, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or eligibility to obtain) and DEA registration.
• Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage children, adolescents, and their families.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of children and adolescents to diagnose mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families/caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications for pediatric patients, adjusting as necessary.
• Partner with families, pediatricians, schools, and community agencies to coordinate care and support continuity across settings.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to our dedicated team of mental health professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
