Job summary

MedStar Health in the Baltimore region seeks a PRN daytime Hospitalist Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to deliver inpatient care on a fast-paced hospital medicine team.

You will perform comprehensive evaluations, document progress notes, order and interpret labs, coordinate with the care team, educate patients, and support transitions of care. Requires ARC-PA‑accredited PA program with PA-C, Acute Care NP, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited PA program completion and PA-C designation.
• Accredited NP program completion and Acute Care NP certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive inpatient care, including histories, examinations, and assessment of acute and chronic conditions.
• Documents progress notes, admission/discharge summaries, and EMR updates.
• Orders, reviews, and interprets labs and studies; adjusts meds as indicated.
• Collaborates with attending physicians, consultants, nursing, and care team to optimize outcomes.
• Participates in clinical decision-making, triage, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provides patient education, emotional support, and post-discharge planning.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers, and discharges; liaises with patients and teams.
• Ensures compliance with hospital and safety regulations.
