Job summary

Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center in Choctaw, OK is seeking a Daytime Custodian. The role supports maintenance and operation of the school facility, including grounds and custodial services, under the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities include cleaning, inventory, and securing facilities. The position offers a 12-month contract with health, dental, and life insurance benefits. Immediate starting date is available.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred; or related experience/training.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and write simple correspondence.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic math understanding for daily tasks and inventory.
• Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains facilities on a planned basis for safety and cleanliness.
• Maintains inventory for custodial supplies.
• Opens/closes buildings and handles security systems as assigned.
• Maintains general appearance of buildings and grounds.
• Empties wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums hallways, classrooms, offices and related areas.
• Cleans windows, doors, walls and window ledges as needed.
• Cleans sidewalks and exterior entrances as needed.
• Cleans bathrooms and refills dispensers.
• Assist with preparing facilities for events and activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Operations Director.

SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the school facility including the facility grounds and custodial services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors and maintains all physical facilities on a planned basis to ensure a safe, clean, well-maintained appearance.
• Maintains an inventory for all custodial supplies.
• Opens and closes school buildings and activates and disarms security alarm systems as
• assigned.
• Responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of the buildings and grounds.
• Empties wastebaskets within designated areas; transport trash and waste to disposal area.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, classrooms, shops, labs, lounge and office
• areas.
• Assembles, cleans, dusts, and maintains furniture, tables, chairs, equipment and other facility
• furnishings.
• Clean windows, blinds, doors, walls and window ledge as needed.
• Sweep sidewalks, entrances, and other exterior areas as needed.
• Clean, sweep, mop, and scrub bathrooms; refill soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
• Assist with preparing facilities for special evets, meetings, and school activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
