Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Building Service Worker for Shift I (6:00am - 2:30pm) within the Dept. of Facilities Operations at Shady Grove Depot. This 8-hour, 12-month role supports cleaning and grounds tasks across schools and admin buildings with on-the-job training.

Applicants must be able to perform physical labor, lift up to 50 lbs, and may work overtime. Uniforms are provided, and reporting to inclement weather is required as emergencies arise.

Qualifications

• Completion of the ninth grade required.
• High School or GED diploma preferred.
• Experience in general cleaning of buildings and grounds.
• Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Certificate License: None

Responsibilities

• Performs building cleaning and grounds maintenance in schools and admin buildings.
• Learn to operate and maintain custodial and grounds care equipment.
• Monitor spaces to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Follow emergency facility response procedures.
• Communicate with customers and staff as needed.
