Job summary

The Maxx Fitness Clubzz is seeking a Cleaner / Janitor to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for members. You will perform light cleaning across the gym floor, locker rooms, and offices under the direction of the General Manager.

Shifts are daytime and occur when the club is closed: 4 hours per day, 4 days per week. Compensation will be negotiated with the Regional Manager. The role requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or janitorial work is preferred.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Cleans glass and mirrors on the gym floor, locker rooms and offices.
• Wipes down equipment, doors and floors as necessary.
• Empties trash receptacles daily.
• Sweeps and mops floors; replaces light bulbs as needed.
• Cleans fitness equipment, bathrooms and lockers; reports maintenance problems promptly.

Overview

The Cleaner / Janitor is a vital member of the club staff team, ensuring that the facility remains clean and meets member expectations. The role involves light cleaning duties across the gym floor, locker rooms, and offices, and the Cleaner works under the direction of the General Manager.

The position is for hours when the club is closed: 4 hours per day, 4 days per week. This is a daytime cleaning position. Compensation will be negotiated with the Regional Manager.

Responsibilities

• Cleans glass and mirrors
• Wipes down equipment, doors and floors as necessary
• Empties trash receptacles daily
• Sweeps and mops floors
• Changes light bulbs as necessary
• Cleans all fitness equipment, bathrooms (tile, showers, walls, sink, mirrors, lockers)
• Dusts daily
• Mops and sweeps floors
• Picks up debris and mops rubber floor
• Replaces or adds required supplies in locker rooms
• Cleans vacuum cleaner bags or canister daily
• Reports maintenance problems accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• At least three (3) months of cleaning or janitorial experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Must have excellent organization, interpersonal, and time management skills
• Must have proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomouslyMust be able to collaborate and work as part of a team in a professional manner
