The North Penn YMCA is hiring Daycare Teacher Assistants for our Indian Valley Family YMCA Branch. (DHS Assistant Group Supervisor designation)

Salary: $13-$15 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Greets each child and parent daily; communicates often and professionally with families, children and staff.
  • Assists in the supervision of the children, classroom, and all activities.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of lesson plans.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
  • Assists in collecting and recording all necessary information/documentation for student records, funding, and other projects; enters data into appropriate systems in a consistent and timely fashion.
  • Assists in ensuring center’s compliance with all YMCA, PA DPW licensing, and STARS requirements.
  • Ability to process, understand, and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed (i.e., participation in branch-wide activities and events as a team leader).
  • Must maintain harmonious relations with all outreach facilities/sites.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the North Penn YMCA.

Qualifications:

  • Requires high school diploma (assistant); or be a minimum of 15 years old with 2 years’ experience working with children (aide).
  • Requires current CPR and Basic First Aid certifications.
  • Effective communication; written, oral, and through presentations.
  • Must have strong collaborative work ethic.
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
