Job summary

HireTalent in Richmond, VA seeks a Child Care Teacher to provide a safe, engaging environment for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. You will develop age-appropriate activities, support social and emotional development, and communicate children's progress to families.

Ideal candidates have a CDA credential or strong preference, a minimum of 2 years in childcare, and a HS diploma with early childhood coursework. Mon-Fri, 7.5-hour shifts, center hours 6:00 AM–8:00 PM.

Qualifications

We are seeking dedicated and nurturing Child Care Teachers to join a high-quality early childhood education program in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children ages 6 weeks to 6 years can learn, grow, and thrive.

Working as part of a collaborative teaching team, you'll develop creative lesson plans, encourage social and emotional development, and help children reach important developmental milestones through play-based learning and exploration.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday


• Shift Length: 7.5 hours/day


• Center Hours: 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.


• Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development.


• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.


• Observe, document, and communicate children's progress with parents and caregivers.


• Follow all licensing, safety, health, and infection-control guidelines.


• Partner with fellow teachers, staff, and families to support children's success.


• Encourage creativity, independence, and confidence in young learners.

Required Qualifications

Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (strongly preferred/required by hiring manager)

Minimum 2 years of childcare experience

Experience working with children from infancy through preschool age

High School Diploma or equivalent with early childhood education coursework, OR related education/experience

Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with infants and toddlers (6 weeks to 2 years old)


• Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field


• Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach to learning
