The ideal candidate is patient, creative, and organized, with a high school diploma or GED plus early childhood training, plus First Aid/CPR certification. Growth and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or qualifying college education.
• 90 clock hours of approved early childhood training.
• 9 hours of approved communication training.
• 3 hours of approved ADA training.
• Health and safety training within regulatory timeframe.
• At least one year of qualifying preschool experience.
• Background checks, health and employment suitability.
• Annual professional development required.
• Previous daycare or childcare experience desirable.
• Strong understanding of child development.
• Patient, kind and nurturing.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• First aid/CPR certified.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Plan games and activities that are developmentally appropriate
• Design a daily and weekly schedule
• Provide basic care and caregiving activities
• Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones
• Communicate with parents and update them on their children’s activities

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or qualifying college education.
• Have completed 90 clock hours of approved early childhood training, 6 semester hours of equivalent coursework, or another MSDE-recognized qualifying credential.
• Have completed 9 hours of approved communication training or a qualifying college course.
• Have completed 3 hours of approved ADA training.
• Have completed or be eligible to complete required health and safety training within the applicable regulatory timeframe.
• Have at least one year of qualifying preschool experience, college education, or an approved combination.
• Meet all applicable background screening, health, and employment suitability requirements.
• Complete required annual professional development.
• Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider
• Strong understanding of child development
