Job summary

The Learning Experience is seeking a Prep Cook to plan and prepare nutritious meals for children in our center. You will help create a safe, welcoming dining environment that supports kids' growth and learning through balanced nutrition.

Candidates should have 1+ year of cooking experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain a food handling certificate within 90 days. You will collaborate with teachers and center leaders to meet daily meal needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Must obtain a food handling certificate within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for children that meet nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Adhere to proper food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures ensuring that food is stored and handled properly.
• Partner with the Center Leadership team to purchase all food/supplies necessary and keep inventory records as required by local and state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and positive attitude towards parents and children, listens and communicates effectively.
• Demonstrates flexibility to the daily business need of a childcare center.
