Kids R Kids Houston Heights is seeking a Preschool Cook in Houston, TX to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for preschool children daily.

You will monitor allergies, follow safety standards, and collaborate with the leadership team to manage supplies and maintain an orderly kitchen. This full-time, in-person role requires a background check and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of preschool food preparation experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children that meet nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track allergies for each child and communicate with teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures for proper storage.
• Collaborate with leadership to purchase food and supplies and keep inventory records.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children.
• Be flexible to daily needs of the childcare center.
• Inventory all center supplies and assist in ordering; keep environment clean and organized.
• Comply with state health regulations for all kitchen and center tasks.
• Be ready to assist in classrooms as needed and cover lunch breaks for teachers.

Kids R Kids Houston Heights seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to join our team. As a Preschool Cook with us, you'll play a key role in making a difference in the lives of children, their families, and communities by cooking daily nutritious meals.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy and delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child in our center, ensuring their safety, and communicate any identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
• Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase all necessary food and supplies and keep inventory records as local and state agencies require.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.
• Inventory of all center supplies including kitchen, assist in ordering
• Maintain clean, neat, organized environment
• Be in compliance with State and Health Department and TLE regulations for all kitchen and center needs
• Ready to assist in any classroom as a teacher or assistant teacher, cover lunch breaks for teachers
• Assist in all center tasks

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking in a preschool setting.
• The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Other information

Compensation: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
