Job summary

Inspire Early Education in Dover, PA is seeking an experienced cook to support daily food preparation for children, including meals and snacks for diverse dietary needs. You will ensure safe storage, temperature logs, and cleanliness, manage weekly orders, and help maintain inventory while following health regulations.

This role also supports field trips and special events within a warm, inclusive early-education setting.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.
• Ability to push, pull and lift to 45 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.

Responsibilities

• Cooking, baking, and food preparation for children.
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal; maintain temperature logs.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs.
• Maintain children’s allergy list.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies; replenish dishware and cookware.
• Follow portioning guidelines and manage food inventory.
• Comply with health regulations and company best practices.
• Maintain kitchen cleaning schedule (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Occasionally prepare food for field trips and school events.
• Duties may evolve with daycare needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain children’s allergy list regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
• Complies with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the daycare centers.

Who You Are

Required :
