The Learning Experience of Middletown is seeking a caring, energetic Assistant Teacher to join our growing early childhood team. This full-time position supports the Lead Teacher with daily activities and helps create a safe, nurturing classroom where children build confidence and independence.

Ideal candidates love working with young children, have strong communication and teamwork skills, and are committed to meeting New York State childcare requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers is preferred.
• Passion for early childhood education and working with young children.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, lessons, and routines.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through age-appropriate activities.
• Supervise children throughout the day, including during meals, naps, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other daily care routines as needed.
• Encourage positive behaviors, independence, and age-appropriate social skills.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
• Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and applicable childcare regulations.
