Job summary

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking a Day Treatment Teacher for Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris, ME for the 2025/26 school year. Candidates must hold a valid Maine certificate or be able to obtain one with appropriate endorsements, and should be capable of building positive relationships with students and working well in a team.

Experience with students with mental health and behavioral concerns is preferred, as are strong academic skills with students.

Job description

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Day TreatmentTeacher at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High Schoolin South Paris,ME.This position is for the 2025/26 School year.

Candidates must hold a valid Maine certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s).Must be able to build positive relationships with students and work well as part of a team. Experience with students with mental health and behavioral concerns is preferred. Strong academic skills with students are also preferred.

Reports to: Building Principal
Work Schedule: 180 Day Contract

Salary: $45,000.00 - $79,539.70* (SY25/26)

MSAD #17 offers a robust employee benefits package for full-time employees, including: health insurance with 80% of the premium paid by the employer (with up to 100% if both spouses work in the district); dental, vision, Group Life Insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts; Maine Public Employee Pension, 403(b) retirement plan eligibility; 15 paid sick days per year; and tuition reimbursement.

*In addition to the base salaries above, Special Education positions receive the following annual supplemental stipends:

  • Day Treatment Teachers - $4,500
  • Functional Life Skills Teachers - $4,400
  • Social Skills Teachers - $3,400
  • Resource Room Teachers - $2,000
  • Social Workers - $4,450
  • Applied Academics Teachers - $4,000

OXFORD HILLS REGION

The Oxford Hills School District (MSAD 17) comprises the towns of Norway, South Paris, West Paris, Oxford, Waterford, Harrison, Hebron and Otisfield. MSAD 17 shares vocational resources and accepts students in its Oxford Hills Technical School programs from the RSU10 School District towns of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education is located within the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The Oxford Hills offer a variety of outdoor resources for anyone wishing to enjoy the region, whatever the season. The area boasts more than ten lakes and ponds for outdoor recreation, a land trust with hundreds of acres for skiing, snowshoeing, and is in close proximity to several downhill skiing areas! Community support for Oxford Hills athletics and extracurricular activities is very strong and represents the robust regional commitment to the students and schools within the district.
