Responsibilities
  • Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
  • Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain all benefits
  • Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
  • Maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace
  • Engage in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each transaction
  • End each transaction with a "thank you" to every customer
  • Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
  • Perform basic math (compute rate, ratio, percent), draw and interpret bar graphs, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and other employees
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills
  • Show strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement while contributing to a positive team atmosphere
  • Exercise judgment and tact while working with customers or coworkers
  • Possess strong oral, written, and reading communication skills to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all levels of the organization
  • Work assigned schedules that may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned
Schedule

Flexible schedule will typically include varied daytime shifts between 9:30 am and 5 pm Monday‑Friday. This will be 3–5 times a week, generally, with occasional weekend pick‑ups during peak seasons.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred and/or 1–3 months of cashiering experience.

Physical Requirements / Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work—exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
