Job summary

Bancroft in Voorhees, NJ is hiring a Day Support Associate to provide compassionate care for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. You will coordinate medical appointments, prepare clients for visits, and advocate for their health and safety.

Candidates must be 18+, have a HS diploma or GED, be willing to work weekends, and hold a valid driver’s license. The shift is Monday–Friday 8am–4pm, with an hourly rate of $19.16–$19.44.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor's degree; experience with developmental disabilities; 2 years as Program Associate or 1 year as Senior within Bancroft.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and coordinates medical appointments per orders and regulations.
  • Prepares clients for medical visits (washing, grooming, attire).
  • Maintains current medical information at the program site.
  • Verifies insurance and funding before visits; ensures required tests are done.
  • Accompanies clients to visits or arranges a proxy; communicates health details.
  • Follows up after visits; notes medication changes and adverse reactions.
  • Provides supervision and direct care during procedures as needed.
  • Liaises with healthcare providers, insurers and suppliers for equipment.
  • Advocates for clients in various situations.

We are Hiring: Day Support Associate

Location: Voorhees, NJ

Department: Flicker

Hourly Rate: $19.16-$19.44/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

We are looking for Direct Support Professionals that are passionate about providing quality care in a positive and empathetic manner. Our Direct Support Professionals must have a strong desire to work with autistic, intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals.

Responsibilities

In addition to performing job responsibilities of a Program Associate, serves as a liaison between assigned persons served and their healthcare and insurance providers in advocating the best possible medical treatment for persons served:

  1. 1. Schedules individual medical appointments for person(s) served in accordance with healthcare providers orders, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) recommendations, and in compliance with Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) regulations, and in compliance with and requirements as directed from the Health Care Coordinator.
  2. 2. Prepares assigned person(s) served for all medical appointments with physicians, dentists, and healthcare specialists, ex: washing, bathing, grooming, appropriate attire, etc.
  3. 3. Ensures the accurracy, completeness and currency of all meidical information maintained at the program site for assigned person(s) served din their caseload as directed by the Health Care Coordinator.
  4. 4. Prepares for individual medical appointments for assigned person(s) served; e.g., confirms insurance and funding information prior to visit, ensures that all necessary pre-testing has been performed and results received (ex lab tests, xrays, special studies, etc)
  5. 5. Personally accompanies assigned person(s) served to medical visits or makes arrangements for a proxy; communicates with healthcare provides on behalf of person(s) served, providing medical history, explaining current health status, behaviors and reason for visit, providing details regarding medications and reactions, etc.
  6. 6. Performs necessary follow-up post-medical visits; alerts program site staff of any medication changes; observes and monitors person(s) served post-administration of newly-prescribed drugs and promptly notified healthcare providers and program management in the event of an adverse reaction; appropriately updates and files medical information for assigned person(s) served.
  7. 7. Provides supervision and direct care to assigned person(s) served in the event of medical or dental procedures etc, which may vary from short duration to exnteded periods of time or until relieved.
  8. 8. Serves as liaison with healthcare providers, insurance providers, equipment suppliers, etc., in arranged for and acquiring various medical equipment and supplies for assigned person(s) served
  9. 9. Serves as an advocate on behalf of assigned person(s) served in a variety of situations.
Qualifications

We’re Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Work well in teams and are open to learning new skills
  • Have the ability and willingness to work weekends
  • Have a current driver's license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Program Associate or one year as a Senior Program Associate preferably within the Bancroft organization is preferred.
