Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) is hiring for a Day Street Sweeper (CDL B) – Full-Time in Thousand Palms, CA. The role involves operating a street sweeper on a defined route during 1st shift (3am–3pm).

Compensation is $20–$21 per hour with minimal travel and a strong safety culture. As a vital field team member, you will inspect equipment, perform route work, and maintain accurate logs while representing the company professionally.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: 1 year DOT driving experience; waste & recycling services preferred.
• License: CDL-B and DOT Medical Card.
• Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Compliance: Clean MVR, background check, and drug screening per policy and law.

Responsibilities

• Route execution: review routes ahead, complete assigned work on time with quality.
• Safety & inspections: complete pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure equipment is safe.
• Operate equipment: drive street sweeper, follow traffic laws and site protocols.
• Reporting: report equipment issues and complete logs and paperwork.

Your daily impact:

As our next Street Sweeper, you'll be at the heart of our mission—delivering essential services that help improve public safety and enhance environmental quality. In this role, you’ll take ownership of assigned routes, drive the street sweeper, and operate specialized equipment to keep streets clean and well-maintained. The job responsibilities below outline the core duties and expectations of a position, providing clarity on how the role supports Company goals. • Route Execution: Review routes in advance, ask clarifying questions as needed, and complete assigned work on time with attention to quality.
• Safety & Inspections: Complete required pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure equipment is safe and operational before starting work.
• Equipment & Material Handling: Operate equipment safely and efficiently, follow traffic laws and site protocols, and handle materials according to disposal and safety procedures.
• Reporting & Documentation: Immediately report equipment issues, incidents, or safety concerns and accurately complete required logs and paperwork.
• Professional Communication: Represent the Company professionally and communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
• Adaptability & Reliability: Respond effectively to changing conditions, solve problems as they arise, and maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Education: High School or GED
• Experience: 1 year DOT driving experience – waste & recycling services experience preferred
• License: CDL-B & DOT Medical Card
• Age: Must be at least 21 years of age
• Compliance: Must maintain an acceptable driving record and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check, background check, and drug screening in accordance with Company policy and applicable law.

• Equipment & Tools: Operation of specialized equipment (e.g., mechanical broom sweeper) and use of hand controls, foot controls, and fine motor skills.
