BluePearl Pet Hospital in Arden Hills, MN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced department.

In this role you will triage cases, assist DVM, perform diagnostics, ICU tasks, discharge patients, and communicate with clients while providing compassionate care for pets. You will also support nursing rounds, monitor medications, and participate in CPR guidelines as directed by the attending clinician.

Qualifications

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Arden Hills, MN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced emergency department.

Our Veterinary Assistants triage emergency cases as they come in and assist DVM with crafting and going overestimates as needed. In addition, they perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork , etc ), setting patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handling client communication.

As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant , you will:
