Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS seeks a part-time, day-shift Outpatient Surgical Tech to support sterile technique and instrument handling in the OR suite.

Responsibilities include preparing instrumentation, assisting surgeons, maintaining patient safety, and helping with room turnover. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CST or accredited program, and BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CST certification or equivalent accredited program is expected.
• At least 1 year OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and anticipates instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for use during procedures.
• Anticipates surgeon needs by passing instruments and supplies during the procedure.
• Measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and irrigation solutions as needed.
• Maintains sterile technique to the highest standard during procedures.
• Assists with room turnover and terminal cleaning; supports first scrub role and counts.
