Job summary

Avera St Luke’s Hospital is seeking a Sonographer to join our team on a PRN day shift. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, produce high-quality images, and assist radiologists with interpretation.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree or equivalent and ARDMS certification, with six months to one year of related experience. Vascular experience is a plus. Avera emphasizes compassionate care and professional growth in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
• ARDMS certification required (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
• New graduates must have initial registry within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate and efficient clinical diagnostic images as directed by providers and/or radiologists according to established standards and protocols
• Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referring provider when test indicates immediate attention
• Reviews indications for tests and contacts provider for more information when needed
• Provides test data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to the reading radiologist for interpretation
• Maintains department policies, procedures, objectives, safety, quality, and infection control
• Assists with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation
• Maintains records and daily QC as required by department manager and standards
