Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Team Leader functioning as the charge nurse to provide direct patient care and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. The role requires a BSN, Texas RN license (or compact), and completion of charge nurse training within 90 days if hired externally.

Responsibilities include leading the department, planning staffing by patient acuity, ensuring efficient patient flow, and supporting organizational quality and patient experience

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Charge nurse training and competencies; if external hire, must complete within 90 days of hire.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact
• Clinical course certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) for RN requirements
• Advanced Specialty Certification or agreement to obtain within 2 years (CCRN, CEN, RNC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provides frontline leadership and decision-making for departmental staff, ensuring quality and integrity of care.
• Develops staffing plan based on patient acuity and oversees day-to-day operations on the shift.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts staffing to support unit fiscal goals.
• Coordinates and facilitates efficient patient flow and timely admissions/discharges.
• Assists the manager in achieving department and organizational objectives including patient experience and quality measures.
• Participates in department initiatives and process improvements.
• Participates in peer interviews and provides feedback for evaluations.
• Assists with incident investigations.
• Other duties as assigned.
