Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. is hiring for a manufacturing associate in Fortify Building Solutions at the Houston, TX site. The role involves operating heavy machinery, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality parts while following strict safety rules.

Shifts vary (8–12 hours) with potential overtime in a dynamic environment. The position requires a High School diploma and at least 1 year in manufacturing; forklift or crane training is a plus, and lifting up to 50 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Forklift experience a plus / must be trainable on forklift.
• Crane experience a plus / must be trainable on crane.
• Flexible with overtime and weekends when needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Knowledge of production techniques to produce quality building parts.
• Follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment.
• Mark part numbers and order numbers on parts with identification tags.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to select correct materials.
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Stand/walk 8–12 hours daily.
• Handle materials with occasional awkward positioning and climbs on/off equipment and ladders.
• Work under varying and extreme indoor/outdoor conditions (hot/cold/rain/shine).
