Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking an entry-level Houseperson to help clean and maintain guest rooms, hallways, and common areas at our Chester property. You will assist room attendants with supplies and linens, ensuring guest rooms meet cleanliness standards and brand expectations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a warm guest approach, with day shifts and a 8:30 am–5:30 pm schedule. We offer benefits for full-time associates and opportunities for growth within a growing hotel portfolio.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Customer Service Skills required.
• Prioritization and time management skills required.
• Must have a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Strip rooms - remove bed linens, terry, and trash.
• Cleans hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.
• Dusts fixtures, frames, and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets
• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Stocks and delivers supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Abides by MSDS regulations when using chemicals.
• Reports to work on time and in uniform per policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests warmly.
• Performs other related duties as required.
